How to connect your store to Pirate Ship

On your Ship page, click the top-right button marked "Import from Integrations," as seen here:

The next page will prompt you to select your integration. You can either click the icon for your integration or choose it from the "Connect New Source" drop-down menu:

Follow your integration's prompts

Some integrations will prompt you to log in and connect Pirate Ship on their end. On the other hand, some integrations will require you to copy and paste specific lines of code into Integration Settings in Pirate Ship.

  • Don't walk the plank, matey - it's not nearly as complicated as it sounds 😊 Follow the prompts and you'll be fine!

After following these steps, click "Save Connection" in your Integration Settings. YARRrrr ready to start importing y'er orders!

Using the Import grid

By default, Pirate Ship imports orders from your store that are marked as "Unfulfilled" or "Unshipped."

Our system automatically pulls in orders so you don't have to 👌 However, if you'd like to manually refresh your imports, click the blue "Refresh Data" button.

The data columns displayed in your Import grid are 100% customizable. Learn how to filter and sort the columns on your grid.

For example, here's how our Import grid looks when we filter the "Source" column to only import orders from Shopify:

Get rate quotes for all your orders

You can get instant rate quotes for your orders one at a time, or in bulk by selecting the checkbox in the top-left-hand corner of your grid. Here's how the "select all" function looks:

When you check that box, the green "Get Rates" button will display the number of orders you've selected (in this example, there are 28 total orders) 👍

Enter your package information

When you click "Get Rates," you'll be prompted to enter your package information on the next page. This section looks the same as when you create a single label:

If your bulk order contains packages with different weights, we recommend using our Override feature. This feature imports all the weights of your orders so you don't need to manually enter them every time 💪

The Override feature works for the following integrations: BigCommerce, Cratejoy, Ecwid, Etsy, PayPal, Shopify, and WooCommerce.

While your orders can have different weights, the Override feature only works if all your packages have the same dimensions and packaging type. Learn more about how to import weight and other info from your eCommerce integration.

Insurance and Extra Services

Below your package info, you can select the "Insurance" checkbox to add optional InsureShield coverage to your shipment. InsureShield costs $1 for every $100 of declared value and covers you if something happens to your package during its journey.

Pro Pirate Tip: All UPS labels on Pirate Ship come with $100 of carrier liability (except UPS Ground Saver®, which comes with $50), and all domestic USPS services except Media Mail include $100 of USPS insurance.

If you need added coverage, InsureShield allows you to declare up to $10,000 per UPS label and up to $5,000 for USPS!

If you click the "+" icon next to the Extra Services, you can choose optional add-ons to your labels. Extra Services include:

  • Signature Confirmation: If you need your package(s) signed for upon delivery.

  • Return Labels: If you need a pay-on-use return label included in your shipment.

  • Qualifies for Media Mail: If your items qualify for specially discounted rates (Media Mail rates are mostly reserved for educational materials or CDs, vinyl records, sheet music, books without advertising, etc)

  • Irregular Package: If your items aren't packed in a standard cardboard box or mailer.

Choose your shipping services

Pirate Ship automatically displays the "best" shipping service for your orders, which we calculate based on affordability and delivery timeframes. That said, you can browse all available services by clicking the rectangular service bar beneath where it says Choose a domestic service 😊

In this example, the "best" service for your orders is UPS Ground:

In the above example, notice that Pirate Ship displays the rates for both domestic and international shipments. No matter where in the world your customers are located, we've got YARRrrr back!

Buy your labels in bulk

Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click the big green "Buy Labels" button to purchase all your labels at once. It's that easy!

Pirate Ship sends tracking data back to your integration

After you buy labels, Pirate Ship automatically sends each order's tracking information back to your online store. Your orders then get marked as "Fulfilled" or "Shipped," and they'll have the corresponding tracking number assigned to them 😎

Most integrations send your customers their tracking info at this point, but you can choose to enable Pirate Ship's Tracking Emails feature for more customization.

Printing your labels

Printing your labels in a single batch is as simple as buying them. Click the big green "Print Labels" on the page that appears after you buy them, and you'll be set to sail ⛵

The printing process may vary slightly depending on the type of printer you're using, and the size of the labels you have selected in your Settings > General Settings.
