Shipping 101: Creating an Account, Adding a Payment Method, Connecting Your eCommerce Platform, and more

Learning a new platform, and getting started with shipping in general, can feel like sailing in murky waters - but we're here to lend a hook and go over all the basics!

Add your payment method 💳

  • How to Pay for Labels: Pirate Ship accepts all major credit cards. You can add yours by clicking Settings > Payment Method, or wait for the prompt when you buy your first label.

  • Getting Transaction Receipts: We’ll email you receipts for your transactions, which you can view at any time by visiting your Reports page.

    • Depending on how many labels you’re buying, you could unlock our Daily Invoicing feature that combines all your label purchases into one bulk transaction!

  • Connecting a Printer: Pirate Ship lets you ship from home, so access to a printer is a must! Most of our labels work with both 4x6” and 2x7” label printers, or standard desktop printers with regular paper.

  • Using a Scale to Weigh Packages: You’ll also need a scale to enter accurate weights for your packages.

    • Any scale works as long as it displays the weight in both pounds and ounces – but if you’re looking for something more official, we’ve got some scale recommendations here.

  • Where to Get Labels & Packaging: If YARrrr startin' from scratch, here are some suggestions for where to buy label paper and packaging!
