To ensure your Pirate Ship account stays as secure as buried treasure, we require you to verify a security code when you log in. Known as "Two-Factor Authentication" or "2FA," this is a common requirement for internet services to ensure your account cannot be accessed by anyone but you.
How it works
After you enter your email and password on Pirate Ship's login screen, we will email you a random 6-digit code that you'll need to enter to complete the log in. Here's how that looks:
Once you enter that code you'll be logged in and ready to ship!
If you don't want to enter a verification code each time to access your account going forward, you can check "Stay signed in" as you see in the screenshot above.
You'll need to enter the code every time you log in
Note that there may be different codes each time you log in. Make sure to use the code from the most recent email that you've received, as the code will change each time you login. You can't use old codes that we sent to you from previous logins!
The email with the verification code should arrive within 60 seconds
When you login, you should receive an email with the verification code you need within a few seconds, but due to internet delays it may sometimes take a little longer. Make sure to refresh your email inbox and check your spam folder if it's not showing up!
What if several people use the same email address on my account to log in?
Add new users to your account: Our 2FA verification emails are sent to the email address you use to log in to your Pirate Ship account. If several users access your Pirate Ship account (for example, multiple employees using a single company login), we recommend creating unique email logins for each person accessing the account!
How to add new users: You can add as many users to your Pirate Ship account as you like! To add a new user, just chat or email our Support Crew with the new user’s full name and email address, and we'll email them an invite to create a unique login and password ✔️
I didn't receive the verification email... what should I do?
Check the spelling of your email address: To ensure you get the verification email, double-check your email address is spelled correctly. Even a small typo, such as an incorrect letter, can result in you not getting the email.
Check your spam or other inboxes: If you didn't receive the email and have doublechecked you entered the correct email address, it may have landed in your Spam/Junk inbox, or other filtered inboxes such as "Promotions" or "Social."
Make sure you're not at your email limit: Another good thing to check is if you have "room" in your inbox to receive emails. It's possible to exceed quotas with some email providers due to a full inbox 😅
...and wait a few minutes: Sometimes the verification email can take up to a few minutes to send. If you still haven't received it after entering the correct email address, checking your spam, and waiting a few minutes, chat with our Support Crew!
If you receive other emails from Pirate Ship such as payment receipts, you'll get the verification email! Don't walk the plank immediately if you haven't gotten it yet, you may just need to give it a few minutes 😉
You can manually disable 2FA in your Account Settings (though we recommend leaving it on!)
Manually Disable 2FA: If you find 2FA to be causing workflow problems, you can manually disable this feature. To do this, head to your Settings > Account Settings and click the "Disable 2FA" button in the Security section. You'll need to acknowledge the legal disclaimer to proceed.
While our software allows you to manually disable 2FA, we still recommend leaving it on to give your account the highest level of security!
Remember, you can keep 2FA enabled but check the "Stay signed in" box so that you don't need to enter a verification code each time you log in 👍
