Why is Pirate Ship asking me to verify my email address?

Learn about our email verification process that helps keep your Pirate Ship account secure

Updated this week

If you receive an email asking you to verify your email address, don't fret, matey! This account verification is a legitimate request from Pirate Ship.

Verifying your email address helps keep your account secure & ensures that you receive important updates

There are two main reasons why Pirate Ship is asking you to verify your email address:

  • Securing your account: Verifying that your email address is current helps our security team ensure that your account stays safe and protected πŸ”’

  • Ensuring communication: Verifying that your email address is correct and current guarantees that you'll always receive important updates about your account and our platform.

You only need to verify your email once

  • One-time verification: Pirate Ship asking to verify the email address associated with your account is a one-time thing πŸ™Œ

    • You won't be prompted to verify your email again unless you change your email address in your Account Settings.

    • We won't send a new email if you log in again, but you will see a banner message at the top of the Pirate Ship website to request a new verification email if you like.

What to do if you didn't receive a verification email

If you didn't receive the verification email, here are some things to check:

  1. Did you use a third-party email organizer app to unsubscribe from our emails? If so, we recommend subscribing to Pirate Ship's emails again through that same app. Once you do that, you can request a new verification email on our website.

  2. Whitelist Pirate Ship's email address in your email filters. Whitelisting an email address helps ensure that you always receive emails from specific addresses. If you haven't whitelisted ours, it may prevent the verification emails from coming through πŸ™ˆ

    1. For more info on how to whitelist our email address with your email provider, check out this HubSpot article.

  3. Wait 10-15 minutes. After whitelisting our email address, wait about 10-15 minutes to see if the verification email comes through. In the meantime, check your Spam folder to make sure it didn't land there.

  4. Contact our Support Crew. If all else fails, click the blue chat button to hoist the flag with our Support Crew πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ We'll get you sailing in the right direction!
