Learn why you may see a $1 charge from Pirate Ship on your debit or credit card statement

Updated over a week ago

Sometimes you may see a $1 charge from Pirate Ship on YARrrr debit or credit card statement. No need to walk the plank, Matey 😉 This is perfectly normal and there's a reason for it!

$1 is the minimum amount that our payment processor can charge

  • $1 Minimum Charge Amount: If you see a $1 charge, it's because a label you purchased costs slightly more than the amount of funds in your Account Balance (less than $1 more, to be exact).

    • $1 is the minimum amount that our payment processor can charge, and Pirate Ship will charge your card $1 to cover the remaining costs of your label.

Feeling like YArrr sailing with two eyepatches on? Here's an example:

  • Let's say you have $10 in your Account Balance, and you're purchasing a label that costs $10.35.

  • To cover the cost, Pirate Ship will draw $10 from your Account Balance. The remaining $0.35 of the label's cost will be covered with a $1 charge to your card.

  • Once you purchase the label, you'll now have $0.65 in your Account Balance 😊 Those funds can be applied towards future label purchases, or you can refund them back to your card.

How to retrieve funds in y'er Account Balance

  • Refunding YARRrrr Account Balance: If you have funds in your Account Balance you'd like to refund to your card, navigate to your Reports page and click the blue "Refund Credit" beneath your Account Balance.

    • Here's how that looks:
