How to change your Payment Method at checkout

Learn how you can choose a different payment method right before you purchase your labels

How to switch between different cards

  • Switch Between Different Cards: If you have multiple payment methods in Pirate Ship, you can easily switch between the two 👍 

    • When you're ready to buy your label, you'll see the Finish Purchase section right above where you click Buy Label.

    • Click on Show Payment Details: To change which card is being billed, first click on "Show Payment Details," as seen in this screenshot:

  • See All Available Payment Methods: Clicking on "Show Payment Details" will expand to show a drop-down list of all available payment methods you can choose from, as seen here:

  • Choose Your Preferred Card: Select the card you want to use in that drop-down menu, and YARRrr in ship shape, Matey!

  • Don't Use Payment Methods Other Than Your Own: When adding different payment methods to your account, ONLY use debit/credit cards belonging to you or your business. If your recipient has given you their card number and offered to pay for their label, you should still use your own payment method to prevent any holds on your Pirate Ship account.

How to use your Account Balance to pay for labels

  • Use Your Account Balance: If you have a running Account Balance in Pirate Ship, you can also change how much of your balance is applied to your purchase! 

    • Just click on Show Payment Details here:

  • Adjust How You Like: When the payment details are expanded, you can adjust how much of your label purchase is charged to your card, and how much is taken from your Account Balance.

    • Here's how that looks:

  • Check Your Account Balance: You can keep an eye on your Account Balance over on your Reports page, which you can get to by either clicking Reports on the left-hand side of the screen when you're logged in or by clicking here!

Can I pay for a label with two different payment methods?

  • Labels Can't Be Bought With Multiple Cards: While you can't pay for a label with two different cards, here's a quick two-step workaround that may help you:

    • Step 1: Add credit to your Account Balance on the first card

    • Step 2: At checkout, use your Account Balance first and then charge the remaining cost of the label to the second card
