Why is it Importing an Old Address that I Updated in Shopify?
Why is it Importing an Old Address that I Updated in Shopify?

Learn where to do if a Shopify order was placed with an old address and needs to be updated

Fixing a Shopify order that imported with an old or incorrect address

In Shopify, there are several places you can update an address:

  • Customer Record: The customer record

  • Subscription Record: If you're using a subscription app, in the subscription record

  • Orders: Any Orders that have been created for that customer

You need to update the address in all three of those locations

  • Updating the Address Everywhere: If you update the Customer Record or Subscription Record, it won't trickle down to the imported order with the incorrect address. You'll want to update both those records for future orders, but most importantly, you'll want to update the address in any current Orders

    • Make sure to modify the address in the Shopify Order, then click Refresh Data on the Import page in Pirate Ship to get the new address. Lastly, be sure to edit the address everywhere, so that this isn't a recurring problem if it's a subscription or a customer that places repeat orders 💪
