When you pay for an expedited UPS service, you expect your package to arrive on time. For certain UPS services, that delivery commitment is backed by the UPS Service Guarantee.
That means if your eligible shipment hasn't arrived by its guaranteed delivery time, you may be able to get the shipping cost refunded.
Note: The package has to be dropped off or handed to UPS before the day's cutoff time, which can be determined at locations.ups.com.
Which UPS services have a money-back guarantee?
Not every UPS service comes with a money-back guarantee. If your service isn't listed below, it isn't eligible for a Service Guarantee refund.
UPS offers a money-back guarantee for these services:
Domestic services:
UPS Next Day Air Early
UPS Next Day Air®
UPS Next Day Air Saver® 💡
UPS 2nd Day Air A.M.
International services:
UPS Worldwide Saver®
UPS Worldwide Express®
💡 Pro Pirate Tip: UPS may adjust the guaranteed delivery time for certain services. For example, UPS Next Day Air Saver® currently has an extended guaranteed delivery time of 11:59 PM on the scheduled delivery day. Be sure to check UPS tracking for the most current delivery information before contacting Support.
When can I request a UPS Service Guarantee refund?
Once the package has been delivered and if it hasn't arrived by its guaranteed delivery time, you can contact our Support crew to request a refund of the shipping cost.
How do I request a UPS Service Guarantee refund?
It's easy!
Check your UPS tracking. Make sure the shipment is showing as late or didn't arrive by its guaranteed delivery time.
Contact our Support crew. You can chat with us or send an email with the tracking number. Let us know you'd like to request a UPS Service Guarantee refund.
We'll take it from there! Our Support crew can submit the request for you.
Keep in mind that requesting a refund doesn't guarantee approval.
Why might the refund be denied?
UPS has some exceptions to the Service Guarantee. For example, a refund may not be provided when a shipment is delayed because of circumstances outside of the carrier’s control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, or other qualifying service disruptions.
You can learn more on their site page and the UPS Tariff/Terms and Conditions of Service.
