Why am I being asked to verify my identity?

Learn how identity verification helps protect your account and what to expect during the process.

We may ask you to verify your identity as part of our efforts to keep your account secure and make sure that only authorized individuals can access or update it.

What is identity verification?

Identity verification is how we confirm that it’s really you. This usually involves taking a photo of your government-issued ID and a quick selfie.

Most customers complete the process in just a few minutes.

💡Pro Pirate Tip: For US residents, a driver's license, state ID, or passport can be used for identification. For international users, we recommend using a passport 👍

Your information is handled confidentially and used only for verification purposes. Jumio holds onto your information for 10 days.
