Update as of 10/21/2025: ALL international services to Canada are available on Pirate Ship, including USPS, UPS, and Simple Export Rate shipments. Canadian postal workers remain on rotating strikes until further notice.
On September 25th, 2025, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) elected to go on strike in protest to the Canadian government's planned changes to close certain post offices and cancel delivery to four million addresses.
While Canadian postal workers remain on rotating strikes as of October 21st, you can now use any international service on Pirate Ship to ship to Canada.
All international services are available to ship to Canada
UPS, USPS, and Simple Export Rate are now available: While USPS and Simple Export Rate were previously suspended, you can now use any international service on Pirate Ship to send packages to Canada.
Please note that rotating strikes are continuing. So, you may notice longer delivery times or delays for USPS and Simple Export Rate shipments, which use Canada Post for last-mile delivery.
International UPS services may incur brokerage fees
Brokerage fees for international UPS shipments: All international UPS services may incur brokerage fees, which UPS charges as the customs broker for a shipment's import into a foreign country. These fees aren't included in your label cost and need to be paid for your recipients to get their packages.
What type of brokerage fees you'll see: UPS Standard® to Canada and Mexico typically incurs "Entry Preparation Fees" and higher brokerage fees compared to more express services like UPS Worldwide Express. Generally speaking, opting for a more premium/expedited UPS service may incur lower brokerage fees.
