Rate changes will take effect for domestic and international USPS services beginning January 19, 2025. The good news is that prices are mostly decreasing compared to the current holiday pricing!
Range of price decreases: Overall price decreases for USPS services will range from small (1%) to very large (26% in some cases!) 🤑
Some services will increase: USPS is increasing prices for select weight & zone combinations in Ground Advantage and Priority Mail, as well as rates for international services.
These increases can be up to 9% over the 2024 holiday pricing

January 2025 domestic USPS rates
Ground Advantage
Weight-Based Ground Advantage
Rates are going down by 3.2% on average, though some shipments may see small increases.
Rate increases are mostly for the following weight & zone combinations:
Packages between 5 oz to 15.99 oz will see price increases of 12 to 24 cents
Packages between 4-6 lb traveling to Zones 1-4 will increase by up to 55 cents
Ground Advantage Cubic
Prices are mostly decreasing by 1.2% on average
Packages in cubic tiers 0.4 - 0.6 shipping to Zones 1-4 will increase by up to 53 cents
Priority Mail
Priority Mail Flat Rate
Rates are decreasing an average of 2.7% for all package types except Large Flat Rate Boxes 💸
Large Flat Rate Boxes are set to increase by 76 cents.
Priority Mail Cubic
Rates are decreasing by 2.9% on average
The decrease in prices will be up to 7.3% for some shipments
Some Priority Mail Cubic shipments will increase, depending on the size of your package and the zone you're shipping to.
Weight-Based Priority Mail
Rates are decreasing by 3.8% on average
Heavier packages (11-20 lb) traveling to Zones 5-8 will see significant price drops, ranging from 9-26%
However, rates for packages under 20 lb traveling to Zones 1-4 will increase by up to 8.7%
Similarly, rates for all packages going to Zone 9 are increasing, as well as a select amount of packages over 20 lb traveling further distances.
Priority Mail Express
Priority Mail Express rates are mostly decreasing 🎉
Media Mail
Media Mail rates will not change 👌
January 2025 international USPS rates
Priority Mail International
Rates are increasing by an average of 6%
The largest increases are to destinations Canada and Mexico, with increases of up to 29%.
Priority Mail Express International
Rates are increasing by an average of 5%
Many countries will see no increase over current rates 👍
The largest increases are to destinations in Mexico, France, and Germany, with rate increases of up to 26%.
First-Class Package International
Rates are increasing by an average of 6%
Some destinations in South America will see increases of up to 32%
Simple Export Rate
Prices are increasing by $1 for all shipments, but Simple Export Rate still remains the cheapest way to ship internationally 😉 Learn more about Simple Export Rate here!
