Whenever you add a new card, the payment processor authorizes a $1 amount to ensure the card is real. This $1 will not post to your account, and most banks drop it off their pending transaction list by the next day. We may be Pirates, but we're honest Pirates! Authorizing cards like this is a common practice for many merchants 😉

Please note, if you add the same card multiple times, or add several different cards, you may see matching $1 authorizations for each of those attempts in your bank account.

Again, the authorization is not an actual charge from us, and it should fall off your account right away.

If you're concerned that your bank has moved them to the "Posted" status, you can send a screenshot to reflect this so our team can dig in, as that shouldn't happen. If it's been less than 24 hours, we promise they'll go away 😊
